Leave It To Peever
Tuesday January 2, 2007
* The harder you look, the less likely you'll be able to find it. * Serenity has nothing to do with those around you, or, for that matter, where you're at, be it a mountain cabin or a busy street corner in New York. * Quieting your thoughts is the first step towards the possibility of finding it. * Serenity cannot be found at the bottom of a bottle or in the thrill of a pill. * You have to let go of anger, resentments, regrets, and revenge. If you caught a snake on your fishing line, would you but it on the stringer? Some things have to be let go. * As big a shock as this might be, the world will go on without you. Accepting this moves you a giant step forward in finding serenity.

1. Don't use drugs. Don't sell drugs. Both will take you down. 2. Don't get married too young or have children too young. Wait until you're at least 25 or so. 3. Don't accept as fact what people say about things, regardless of their presumed status or educational level. THINK FOR YOURSELF. Listen. If it doesn't quite fit or make sense to you, go to the library or use the Internet and search out the facts. People nowadays are about three-quarters bullshit. 4. On a daily basis, let your employer know that you are worth more than you're getting and you deserve higher pay, more benefits, and a retirement plan. 5. Don't borrow money from loan shark title companies. Beg on the street before you do that. 6. If you got a landlord taking advantage of you, tell him he's an asshole. He can't kick you out for being truthful. 7. Hold your head up high and look people in the eyes. You're as good as they are, probably better. 8. Never think that you have to accept violent behavior from anyone. Violence should not be accepted from anyone, under any circumstances, for any reason, at any time. You're better off alone. 9. Don't use credit cards unless you pay off the balance at the end of every month. This is a rich mans scheme to keep you poor and them rich. 10. Never ever put down another persons religion. How is it you're so sure yours is right and their's wrong?

* Dear Peever: Do you speak any foreign languages? Don Dear Don: Does bullshit count?
* Dear Mr. Peever: Is it ok for older people to have sex? Linda Dear Linda: It's ok, but highly unlikely.
* Peever: What do you think is the most important thing that we as humans need to do over the next 20 years? Newt Dear Newt: Bad name. For the second time in our history, mankind needs to climb out of the primordial ooze.
* Mr. Bruce: Bitch, bitch, bitch. Is that all you do? Karen Dear Karen: I bitch, therefore I am.
* Peever: You don't seem very optimistic about the future. Jim Dear Jim: On my good says, I'm cautiously optimistic. On the other days, I take my meds.
* Dear Mr. Peever: Are you against the war? Colin Dear Colin: I'm against the war. I do not believe you can kill your way to peace.
* Mr. Peever: What do you think about the representative from Virginia who is worried about Muslims being elected to congress? Abe Dear Abe: I'm more worried about right-wing, Republican, Christians being elected to congress. If Mr. Goode, Jr., is indicative of the quality and character of our representatives, God help us.
* Peever: What do you think about all the hoopla surrounding the hanging of Saddam Hussein? George Dear George: And people wonder why I'm not optimistic about humanity. When the front page news stories and TV news are about killing someone in revenge, or for the glory of it, you know something is sadly wrong. They say over 600,000 Iraqi's have died since we invaded their country. Who's going to pay for that?
