Leave It To Peever
Tuesday April 17, 2007
I WANT TO THANK EVERYONE WHO PARTICIPATED IN THE BLOGSTREAM BLOGGERS ANTI-WAR PROTEST ON APRIL 16. EVERYONE DID A GREAT JOB. The whole thing is very frustrating. You try to do what you can. This was a simple thing, but every little bit helps. I agree with one of the comments that we should all be in Washington demanding an end to this senseless tragedy. They, being the Bush administration, bank on us being too busy, too far away, too uninvolved to not surround the White House and demand an end to this fiasco. But it looks as though it won't end until we do so. I'll be ready on that day. Until then, let's each do what we can. I fear for the troops and the innocent civilians in Iraq. We need to leave. Your heart will tell you the right thing to do. Listen to it.

Let's go save them all, let's make their day, let's send our sons and daughters down freedoms way. It's not the songs and laugher they'll hear, in their nightmares they'll see nothing but fear.
We line up behind a Commander in Chief, and think what we're doing is fighting for peace. But in the end, when you look at it close, You see all the lies, and it's one big hoax.
It'll keep going through your head, that yesterday, you shot someone dead. A brother, a mother, a father, a son, it's hard to shake off, this thing that you've done.
They say it's alright, that it's part of the fight, And maybe that's so, I don't really know. But in the end, when you look at it close, you see all the lies, and it's not freedom fries.
IT'S OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO BRING THE TROOPS HOME. STOP THE WAR NOW. ENOUGH DAMAGE HAS BEEN DONE TO OUR SONS AND DAUGHTERS. IT'S TIME TO STOP THIS MADNESS.

Sorry, I was called away unexpectedly. Back just in time. REMEMBER TOMORROW-APRIL 16. Anything you want to post about the war. How it has effected you or your family or someone you know. How you feel about it. Your support will be appreciated. Thanks, The Peever

I have asked Blogstream Bloggers to post their disapproval of the war in Iraq on April 16. What you think about the war? How has it affected you or someone you know? What do you think should happen now? When you protest this war, or any war, you open yourself up for criticism. What do you mean, you don't support the troops? Are you un-American? Do you support terrorism? There of course is no way of stopping these types of attacks. You have to be firm and steadfast in your belief that killing and destruction will not take us to a place of peace and brotherhood among all people on Earth. While certainly optimistic, and perhaps even widely idealistic, it is a position that will, in the end, make you feel good about yourself and your relationships with others. I STRONGLY SUPPORT THE TROOPS. I SAY, BRING THEM HOME.

Being a Democrat, I'm glad we won in the last election. It should help balance things out, although I'm pretty leery of any politician nowadays, Democrat, Republican, or otherwise. Having served on the county board for 10 years, I suppose I am one. Sort of an amateur politician. I quit after ten years because I believe that is the maximum amount of time a person should hold any one office. It seems that right at the ten year mark, politicians get lackadaisical, get to owing too many favors, get to feeling too much of that power. If a person wants to move on to a different office after ten years, I don't see any problem with that. Like from House to mayor, or town council to state representative. I don't know, it just seems to me that maybe that would help. A kind of variation on the term limit. Maybe with a $50 limit on any campaign contributions, from anyone, or any organization. Period. What do you think?
