Leave It To Peever

Sen. Hillary Clinton asked the Pentagon to state to her what their plan was in Iraq. As a U.S. Senator, she certainly has that right. She said it could be a classified briefing. The Pentagons undersecretary stated that her asking questions about troop withdrawal aided the enemy. This is a strategy that Karl Rove and Dick Cheney have used repeatedly when anyone questions their motives. Ask a question, you're aiding terrorism. It is a juvenile and dangerous answer, which has no place in a democracy. One constitutionally has a right to question the motives of our leaders. Actually, it's more like a duty. No such rights exist in a theocracy or dictatorship. Welcome to BushWorld.

How do you make the world a better place to live? I'm remained of the old Boy Scout motto: When you camp, leave the camp site cleaner than you found it. What do you personally do to insure that the world will be left a better place after you die? That's a hard question. I suppose there are no pat answers. In fact, I'm pretty sure there's not. If I had to boil it down to the lowest common denominator, I guess I would have to say that I would feel good leaving this world if I could say on my death bed that I listened, really listened, to the ones I love. This is harder than it seems. Really listening draws us into intimate relationships, where we make ourselves vulnerable to pain, disappointment and lose. It's easier to turn our hearing aids off and stare at the television. But that brings us full circle back to the question: What's the use of two good ears, if you can't hear those you love? How do you make the world......

Moore's newest movie, Sicko, demonstrates the greed and weaknesses of our current health-care system. As expected, the big boys are crying foul, from Washington to LA. You always know you're on the right track when the right-wing Republicans try to discredit you. O'Reilly states that Moore wants a socialist system, which he, O'Reilly, believes is horrible and against Gods will. I'm assuming he doesn't participate in Medicare, or our social security system, which are dreadful examples of a socialist economy. Moore can stretch the facts, but no one has ever successfully sued him for misrepresentation of a potential truth. When the government misrepresents the "truth", well, that seems to be ok with all these guys. But let a movie maker stretch the truth in the opposite direction, and all of a sudden we have a commie in our midst who is evil and unpatriotic. That's BushWorld, where defiance of the King equates to treason.

This 25 year old girl keeps e-mailing me wanting to show me her pictures. I'm kind of flattered that she would pick an old goat like me to show her pictures to, put I'm not really much of a picture critic, although I'm betting hers would meet the criteria of a pretty good picture.
